Meldrim Woods Plantation is the perfect setting for a wedding or special event. Location on a Southern plantation, operational until the mid 1930’s, it evokes love and charm and Southern history. It boasts a restored barn containing many historical items which reflect life as it was in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The barn has an open area as well as an enclosed area under its roof and provides approximately 19,000 square feet of usable space.
Spring at Meldrim is beautiful and colored by blooming flowers and fields of planted crops. Today there are cotton fields in full growth or peanuts at their peak and corn on the stalks before harvesting. In the summer, one can see corn before and during its growing season and the husts of golden brown peanuts ready to be harvested. Fall finds cotton in full bloom, their white flowers reminiscent of clouds.
